Our purpose is to imitate God and His love. God loved us and sent His Son to redeem us from sin and death so that we could have a relationship with Him.  For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have eternal life (Jn 3:16 ASV). Through Jesus Christ we have become children of God.  Because of His love for us, we are to love others and want them to have a relationship with God.  This should lead us to obey the words of Matthew 28:18-20:  And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.  Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world (ASV).
